On Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at 12 noon, the meeting of the students of the 1977 intake in the Department of Physics was successfully held at the University of Patras. During the meeting, which took place in the conference room of the Department of Physics, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Mr. George Papatheodorou and the Head of the Department of Physics Mr. Andreas Kazantzides gave an addressing speech.
Afterwards, the fellow students of 1977 were guided to the Laboratory of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics by Professor Andreas Kazantzidis, to the Electronics Laboratory by Professor Vassilis Anastasopoulos and to the Student Laboratories of the Department of Physics by the member of the Special Teaching Staff Mr. Kostas Katsidimas.
This was followed by a lunch at a beachside restaurant in Rio where the old classmates remembered the old times and exchanged views on the current University of Patras.
The participants would like to thank the Rector Authorities for the general support they provided for their meeting. In particular, the participants were satisfied both by the hospitality of their meeting at the University and especially at the Department of Physics and for the publicity the University of Patras gave to the event of their reunion.
