Celebration of the Three Hierarchs (30/1/2023) – Student Excellence Awards 2022 – Outstanding Graduate
For science and technology, university studies are a continuation of high school, with more demands but certain “fruit” from the tree of knowledge gained by fd and steady steps of progress. On the contrary, regarding the field of architecture I chose, nothing had prepared me for it. I found myself in an unknown sea with no certainties and no compass for what is right and wrong. The journey of architectural knowledge, beyond the scientific and technological foundations, required creativity, vision and personal perspective. Studying hard and having critical skills was not enough, but it all had to be coordinated and resulted in personal creation that you had to love to endure the effort. Countless hours of work with anxiety about the result.
For this all, excellence, organization and physiognomy of the Patras University School was crucial. In Patras, beyond my place of origin, I found myself in an amazing group of creative and resourceful fellow travelers. Standing beside us as experienced guides on our personal journeys were our professors not only as carriers of knowledge, but as dedicated teachers who inspired me, shared my anxieties and made use of every good idea I had. It was the hardest five years of my life. Two months after my graduation, I still feel the fatigue and at the same time nostalgia that will probably stay forever. As I pledged in my University School vows, I am grateful to my teachers and my School.
