Hellenic Cables received the award for the project of the year 2020 for the “Electrical Interconnection of Crete-Peloponnese”, in the framework of the of ITC 2021 – 4th Infrastructure-Transport Conference (July 1, 2021).

The electrical interconnection of Crete-Peloponnese has been a difficult and demanding project, also referred to as the “record project”, since the underwater connection of Crete with the mainland is the longest AC (alternating current) cable connection in the world (approximately 178 km) and the greatest in depth, as it reaches 1,000 meters.
