George SIDIROPOULOS – who together with Iakovos STAMOULIS founded Think Silicon S.A. which, since 2018, is an Applied Materials company – is a graduate of the University of Patras holding a diploma (1998) and an MSc in Computer Science (2001) from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics (CEID).

Think Silicon, a company that started in Patras, designs graphics cards for smartwatches. In 2020, the innovation of Think Silicon, which offered strong performance and energy autonomy of the cards, attracted the interest of American Applied Materials, which proceeded to acquire them and opened new growth horizons in Europe and America. Think Silicon has now a new team of Think Silicon engineers in Athens. However, until becoming a Applied Materials company, Think Silicon faced great financial difficulties that brought them to a critical point.
