Christos E. GEORGIOU is the General Director of the Research Institute of the Federation of Industries of Greece (SBE) since 2019, where, from 2003 to 2019, was the Director of Validation and Technical Studies.

  1. GEORGIOU is a graduate of the University of Patras with a PhD in Business Administration (2010). He also holds a Master’s degree in Production Systems Management (2000) and a diploma in Mechanical Engineering (1992) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

He was in charge of the “Technology Transfer Centre” of the “Thessaloniki Technology Park” (1998-2001) and deputy scientific officer of the “Observatory of Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship” of the Region of Central Macedonia (2001-2003).

He has worked as a researcher for the Greek public sector and prominent private sector companies in the fields of strategic and operational planning, analysis and evaluation of investments, national and regional competitiveness, impact evaluation of structural policies and programmes on the national economy and competitiveness, etc. Since 2003, C. GEORGIOU has been the head of the Greek research team collaborating with the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). He published “The succession process in family businesses”, co-authored with the Greek-American professor Asterios G. KEFALAS in 2013. His new book (in progress) entitled “Preparing for succession: a practical guide for forward-thinking family businesses” is about a methodology for implementing a proper succession process in family businesses suggested by GEORGIOU and KEFALAS.
